The world population is estimated to have reached 7.9 billion. With more than half of the world's population lives in cities. And it will continue to grow rapidly in the coming years. After Globalization and Industrial Revolution people start to move toward cities for jobs and easier access to Social Services. But because of a growing population in cities, the cities face problems. The more humans there are on Earth, the more resources such as food, water, and the land we need, the more resources we take away from other species, and the more waste we generate.

Europe begins to shrink in population due to ageing citizens and declining birth rates. But Indian and Chinese cities will continue to grow rapidly in the coming years. Tokyo is the world’s most populous city with 37.4 million people, but this number is decreasing due to declining birth rates and an ageing population. North America, Latin America and the Caribbean make up the most urbanized regions of the world and in these countries, about more than 60% to 70% population lives in the cities. But Africa remaining the most rural.
